According to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl, in November this year, Germany's crude steel output amounted to 3.5 million tonnes, decreasing slightly by 0.2% compared to the same month of the previous year and down by 6.9% compared to October.

As per WV Stahl, German crude steel production has decreased year on year for 12 months since October 2011 and September 2012, both included and it stabilizes in November this year for the second month in a row, reaching the levels very close to those of 2011. WV Stahl also noted that the recent stabilization might significate that the inventory cycle has now become favourable to steel production.

In the first 11 months of 2012, Germany's crude steel production totaled 39.6 million tonnes, falling by 4.1% as compared to the same period of 2011.

On the other hand, in October Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 3.14 million tonnes, increasing 1.4 % year on year, including 2 million tonnes of flat steel products up 0.7% year on year and 1.2 million tonnes of long steel products up 2.5 percent year on year.
